Skill: JUMPING
Drill: Jump Kicks
Equipment needed: One clapper pad for each student and their guardian
Instructors needed: Multiple to Monitor
Description: Students will work on their JUMPING by jumping and trying to kick a pad.
Step 1
Give each guardian clapper pad.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Then have them spread out around the mat with their students.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • When the guardian says go the student will try to jump up and kick the clapper pad.
  • Guardians shouldn’t hold the clapper pad too high to where students are not able to kick the pad.
  • Guardians will give the students 5 turns to kick the pad.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Count loud so your student knows exactly when to go.
  • Challenge your students. If where you are holding the target is too easy raise it up a little higher.
  • Cheer for them when they are able to jump and kick the pad.
Step 5
  • Continue so each student has a chance to kick five times.
