Brain SKILLZ:
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line, you will need one instructor to hold a Kicking Pad. For each line, a belt is placed in front of the first student of the line where one end points toward the student and the other end points toward the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The first student will start by putting one foot on the “rope”.
  • The student will chamber the other knee up and perform a front kick hitting the pad held by the instructor.
  • When the student put their kicking foot down, they must put it down in front of their planted foot, touching heel to toe, and on top of the “rope.”
  • The students will do 5 kicks down the “rope.”
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Keep your hands up and don’t waive them around for better BALANCE
  • Make sure your chambers are high when you kick for good technique
  • Do your best to always step heel to toe as you move down the mat
Step 5
  • Continue so that each student has at least 2 turns.
