Drill: T-R-I-C-K-Y
Equipment needed: Students need their Bo’s
Instructors needed: A few to monitor
Description: The students will practice their creative variations on existing tricks within combinations.
Step 1
  • Divide your students into 2 teams.  
Step 2 – Explain the Rules:
  • Students will have 5 minutes to practice creative trick combos.
  • Students will then spread to opposite sides of the mat.
  • 1 student will begin the battle and within 3 seconds a student from the other team must meet them in the middle.
  • No students are allowed to go twice in a row.
  • The 1st student will perform a trick and the student from the other team must try and match it.
  • The student to successfully demonstrate the trick scores a letter for their team.
  • If both successfully complete the trick, then the opposing team can go 1st on the next trick.
  • The 1st team to spell T-R-I-C-K-Y is the winner!
Step 3 – Takeaways:
  • Don’t hesitate to step up and battle.
  • Use your practice time wisely and work on multiple tricks and combos.
  • Finish everything with power!

  • Continue until one team is the winner!
