Drill: Crazy Chops
Equipment needed: 1 small target/1nickel per line
Instructors needed: Multiple to monitor
Description: The students will practice having good DETAILING by demonstrating their ability to apply good detail to their chops by being able to hold a nickel under their thumb. This will challenge them physically by requiring them to focus on the chop and the nickel at the same time.

Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student in line will stand up and face the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The student will open their hand and must hold a nickel between their palm and thumb.
  • They will then have to do 5 chops without dropping the nickel.
  • On round 2 the students must switch to the other hand.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Chamber before you chop.
  • Do drop the nickel, pay attention to your thumb.
  • Aim to hit the middle of the target.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2-3 turns.
