Drill: Don’t Look Down
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: Multiple to Monitor
Description: The students will practice having good CONFIDENCE by demonstrating their ability to keep their eyes on who they are teaching the person they are working with. This will challenge them mentally by requiring them to stay focused on the person that they are instructing.
Step 1
Divide your students into groups
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st partner will start by leading the other through 5 punches.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The person who’s is counting must keep their eyes on their partner the entire time.
  • If the student looks away, then they have 5 push-ups and it’s the other persons turn.
  • On round 2 you can have students pick their favorite technique.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Look at your partner, try not to look away.
  • Be loud as you are counting the reps.
  • Be serious the whole time try not to act silly.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2 turns.
