Week 1 – Stepping
Warm Up (Routine 1) – 5 Minutes
Sunflowers: Rotate your arms forward 5 times, then backwards 5 times.
Toe Touches: Reach down and touch your toes then stand back up 10 times, all while looking forward.
Baby toe touches: Lie on your back and gently raise your feet up and touch your toes 10 times.
Octopus Wiggles: While sitting, lift your feet off the ground and wiggle your legs and arms while counting to 10.
Mat Chat – 3-minutes (Includes Water Break)
Today we are going to work on STEPPING.
STEPPING means moving your feet without falling.
Here are three STEPPING tips that I want everyone to practice today:
1. Keep your head up. 2. Watch where you are stepping. 3. Try not to fall.
Skill-Building Drills – 7 Minutes
Over the Rocks:
Students will work on their STEPPING skills by first trying to step over a pad, then punching in the air.
Step Step Kick Kick:
The students will work on their STEPPING skills by taking two steps and then kicking a pad.
Race Car:
The students will practice their STEPPING by being able to take steps as the move in a circle around the pad.
Down the River:
The students will practice their STEPPING by taking steps and alternating punches all the way down the agility ladder.
Milestone Assessments – 5 Minutes
Practice Milestones.
18 – 22 months: Will step on a pad without help.
22 – 28 months: Will step on and off a pad without help.
28 – months and up: Will step across a line of pads without falling.

Cool Down (Routine 1) – 5 Minutes
Monkey: While standing, reach down and touch your toes and look straight ahead while counting to 10.
Selfie hug: Give yourself a tight hug while counting to 10.
Giraffe: Reach towards the ceiling while counting to 10.
Elephant: Bend over and swing your arms like an elephant’s trunk while counting to 10.
