Drill: VIP Tag
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: Multiple to monitor
Description: Students will practice STRENGTH by trying to move quickly to tag a member of a pre selected team. The team will be trying to prevent the runner from tagging their VIP.
Teaching SKILLZ: Healthy Competition
motivate students by turning the challenge into a fun contest to see who can stay the strongest, hold the best control, or complete the task the fastest while keeping proper form.
Brain SKILLZ: Divided Attention
both the tagger and the circle must track multiple moving parts at once: the VIP, the tagger’s movements, and the shifting positions of teammates, all while staying engaged physically.
Step 1
Divide your students into 2 groups.
Step 2
Have the groups form a circle, and select one person to be the tagger. (They stand on the outside)
Step 3 – Explain the Rules
  • The Circle will have one person the tagger is trying to get.
  • When the instructor says. ”GO” the tagger will run and try to get their person…
  • The circle will move around as a team trying to keep their VIP safe.
  • If the VIP gets tagged then the circle has 5 burpees if the VIP is not tagged the tagger does 5 burpees.
  • The tagger s will have 20 seconds to take the VIP
  • A tag can only count if it hits the torso, anywhere else doesn’t count.
Step 4 – Takeaways
  • Work as a team and communicate so you can move.
  • Change directions a lot if you’re the tagger.
  • Don’t give up try your hardest to win.
Step 5
  • Continue until for 3-4 rotations through the group.
