Drill: Perfect Push-Ups
Equipment needed: 2 cones, 1 bar per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The purpose of this drill is to teach the steps to doing a good push-up in a fun and challenging environment. Explain the importance of bending the elbows, keeping the core straight, and not using your knees as the key to becoming a master at push-ups.

Step 1
Divide your class into even lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Set up two cones with the bar through the top hole. Do this for each line and place them on the opposite side of the floor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • They will take turns running down the mat to the cones.
  • Once they are there, they will go to push up position on their hands and feet while looking over the bar.
  • Perform 3 pushups looking under the bar
  • Run back to your line and tag the next person
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Bend your arms as far as you can.
  • Take your time and do them right.
  • Look under the bar each time.
Step 5
  • You can repeat with running, hopping or crawling to the cones
