Drill: Fit Dash
Equipment needed: 1 cone per line
Instructors needed: A few to monitor
Description: In this drill we will work on making our body stronger by having great FITNESS with different types of exercises while making it a race to see who can be the fastest!
Teaching SKILLZ: TRICKERY
The instructor can say things that sound like “Go home” to try and trick them, like “Go gnome”.
Brain SKILLZ: AUDITORY PROCESSING
The student must be able to react to the instructor’s commands and perform the correct exercise correctly.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setup the drill
Set a cone out for each line, at the opposite end of the mat
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • Explain that you will call either one of the following exercises (Shoulder Taps, Squat Jumps, Leg Raises, or Jumping jacks)
  • The instructor will call one of the exercises from the list.
  • The first student in each line will run to the cone and start doing that exercise.
  • After about 5-7 seconds the instructor will say “HOME” and the first student to run back and sit strong gets a point for their team.
  • Once everyone has gone, the line with the most points wins!
Step 4 – Takeaways
  • Make sure to have good self discipline as you play.
  • Be as fast as you can.
  • Sit string when you’re done.
Step 5
  • Continue for 2-3 games.
