Drill: Tilt-A-Whirl
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: Several to monitor and coach
Description: The students will increase their rotational and upper body ENDURANCE.
Step 1
  • Divide your class into even teams.  
Step 2 – Explain the Rules:
  • Students will challenge one member of the oppostite team to complete the most spin hook (setup)>cartwheels as they can in 20 seconds.
  • Only combos with hook kicks at waist level or higher will count.
  • The student to complete the most scores a point for their team.
  • The team that loses the round will get to pick the next student to go.
  • The team with the most points at the end of the round will win.
Step 3 – Takeaways:
  • Site your target as you kick, to improve “spindurance”.
  • Don’t slow down; push yourself as hard as you can in 20 seconds.
  • Maintain technique; don’t get sloppy just for the sake of winning.
Step 4
  • Continue for 2 rounds.
