Drill: Drill Breakdown
Equipment needed: NONE
Instructors needed: Multiple to Monitor
Description: The students will practice having good RETENTION by demonstrating their ability to be able to remember the different steps to leading a drill, and they must lead a random step of a pre-selected drill. This will challenge the students mentally to have them quickly make decisions u der pressure and still give good information.
Step 1
Divide your students into groups
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student in the group come up to lead the pre-selected drill.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The head instructor will yell out a number 1-7 once the student hears the number they must say the correlating step for leading a drill.
  • If they get it correct, then they must give a short demonstration of that step.
  • For Ex. 1=Set-up the Drill (Students would say the step, then quickly run to get equipment needed.)
  • After the first student, has gone they will rotate out with another student.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Have a good energy so that your positivity infects everyone.
  • Quickly know what to do for the drill so that you don’t waste time.
  • Be confident even if you make a mistake or get scared still do your best.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2 turns.
