Drill: Backwards Drill
Equipment needed: NONE
Instructors needed: Multiple to Monitor
Description: The students will practice having good RETENTION by demonstrating their ability to know all the 7 steps to running a drill. This will challenge them mentally by requiring them to run the drill starting with step 7 and ending with step 1.
Step 1
Divide your students into groups
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st person from the group will come up to lead a drill.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The leader must demonstrate their ability to run a drill backwards, they will try start with the ending and do their best to make it through the entire drill.
  • The goal is to lead the drill all the way through even if the drill gets difficult.
  • The students only have 2 minutes to finish.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Take it slow so that you don’t miss any parts.
  • Think about every step before you do it.
  • Don’t be upset if make a mistake just stay focused.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2-3 turns.
