Description:
Students will work on having good DISCIPLINE by being able to hold a clapper pad strong for one of their class mates.
Teaching SKILLZ: Extrinsic Motivation
Instruction: “If you count loudly and hold the pad strong, your instructor will do 3 squat jumps!” This encourages students to give effort through external recognition and teamwork.
Brain SKILLZ: Response Inhibition
Students must stay focused and resist distractions while holding the pad or performing kicks, especially while switching roles and counting under pressure.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Explain the Rules:
The first student in each line will run down and hold the clapper pad.
The next ninjas in line will come up and put their hands up by their eyes.
The student holding out the pad will count out 5 kicks for their classmate to do.
After they are done, the ninja kicking will take the pad, and the ninja that was holding the pad will go to the end of the line.
Step 3 – Takeaways
Hold the pad strong so your partner can kick the pad.
Count loud so that your partner can here you.
Kick the pad strong so that you can be a good teammate.
