Description: The students will work on their DISCIPLINE by doing increased reps of techniques and still keeping good technique even when they get tired.
Teaching SKILLZ:
UP THE REP – On the first round, the students can have sloppy technique. On the second round, the students can have medium technique. On the last round, the students can have the best technique that they can. This will help the students learn to practice to get better.
Brain SKILLZ:
RESPONSE INHIBITION – The students must be able to do a variety of tasks without giving up. This works on their ability to complete a task despite distraction, as the students should have good technique throughout the whole drill, even if they are tired.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Students will get ready to perform different techniques
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The 1st student will go to the first spot and do 4 front kicks.
  • Once they get to the second row they will do 6 punches, then go to the next row.
  • Finally at the last row they will do 8 push-ups and run to the end of the line.
  • Once the person in front of you moves to the next row, it’s your turn to go.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Move fast from station to station.
  • Don’t lose technique even if you have to go slow.
  • Make sure you give 100% at each station.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2 turns.
