Skill: Discipline
Drill: Find Some Ninjas
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: 1 or 2 to monitor
Description: Students will practice having good discipline by being able to wait to hear a number then go sit strong with that number of ninjas.
Teaching SKILLZ:
HEALTHY COMPETITION – The instructor can make it a competition by saying that the last people to make a group will be out, and they can keep going until two students win. The groups can be as small/large as needed depending on the number of students, so many rounds can be played.
Brain SKILLZ:
“SPEED OF PROCESSING – The students must be able to hear the number the instructor calls out, and quickly find that many people and have a seat as fast as they can. This works on their ability to complete a task as quickly as possible while being accurate. ”
Step 1
Have all the ninjas sit in one big group.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
All the ninjas will start in the middle and wait for the instructor to call out a number.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • Once the instructor calls out a number ninjas will have to race to find a group with that many number ninjas then sit strong and say “finished sir/ma’am”
  • Ex. The instructor calls out “four” the students will then have to make groups of four and then have a seat and say “finished sir”
  • The instructor can call out different numbers each round.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Be fast so that you can help your team get done quickly.
  • Listen to the number that the instructor calls so you know how many people you need.
  • Don’t argue about which team you want to be on, show good discipline by working to get the game done quickly!
Step 5
  • Continue for 2-3 turns.
