Drill: Spell It
Equipment needed: Multiple rings
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good EXPLANATION by demonstrating their ability to hop through different rings while also saying letters which will help them spell a word at the end.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student in line will hop in the 1st ring and will then say the letter that they hopped on.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • They will continue this process until they finish all the rings and letters.
  • At the end of the rings they will day the word that was spelt in the rings, if they get it right on the next round they can do a different word.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Keep your feet together on the hops
  • Use your eyes to see the letter.
  • Don’t fall as you hop in the rings.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has multiple turns.
