Drill: Crazy Clean Up
Equipment needed: 4-5 small square pads per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will work on their RUNNING by demonstrating their ability to pick up a lot of targets quickly while also keeping them organized. This will challenge the students physically by requiring them to use their leg muscles to move as fast as possible.
Teaching SKILLZ:
HEALTHY COMPETITION – The instructor can give the students a certain time limit to complete their turn in; The first round having no time limit, the second having ten seconds to finish, and the third round having seven seconds to finish.
Brain SKILLZ:
SPEED OF PROCESSING – The students must be able to stack the scattered pads quickly. This works on their ability to complete a task quickly and accurately, as they are under a time crunch but they still have to stack all the pads in a neat pile.
Step 1
Divide your students into line.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The instructors will spread the pads around a small area.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The 1st student in line will stand up and face the pads.
  • When the instructor says “GO” the student will run out and grab one pad and then bring it back the instructor.
  • They will then run out and grab another pad and stack it on the 1st, the students can only ever grab 1 pad at a time.
  • The instructor will countdown from 10 to give the student a challenge.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Make a stack with your pads.
  • Move as fast as you can.
  • Keep your eyes open the entire time.
Step 5
  • Continue each student has 2-3 turns.
