Drill: Dodgeball Relay
Equipment needed: 1 ball and cone per line
Instructors needed: Multiple to Monitor
Description: The students will work on their SHARING skills by playing a fun relay race.
Step 1
Divide your pairs (student and guardians) into lines on one end of the mat, and give the first person in each line a dodge ball.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Place a cone at the other end of the mat.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The first student in line will run across the mat to the cone and then back with the dodge ball, and the guardian will run with the student.
  • The student will share the dodge ball with the next student in line, and so forth until everyone has a turn.
  • Once everyone has a turn, mix up the lines and start again.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Cheer with your student as they run to the cone and back.
  • Give them a high-five after they share the dodge ball.
  • Encourage them to be patient as they wait for their turn.
Step 5
  • Continue as many times as you can until time is called (approximately 2-minutes).
