4 Small Pads Per Line

Description:
Students will work on their STEPPING skills by first trying to step over a pad, then punching in the air.
Step 1
Make several lines with four small pads in a row for the students to step over, and have the pairs pick a line.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Give a quick review of how to punch: Make a tight fist, hit with the front of the knuckles, and hold to other hand by your chin.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
The student will step over the pad and then punch in the air with both hands.
The guardian will walk alongside the student, holding his/ her hand when necessary.
When the student reaches the third pad, the next pair can go.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Cheer on your students as they step over the pads.
Don’t rush your student.
Try and encourage them to step over each pad without help.
Step 5
Continue as many times as you can until time is called (approximately 2-minutes).
